A tree in the city

Project type

In this series, I choose to deliberately distance myself from reality as we know it, opting for an approach that highlights aspects of the natural world that are often ignored or misunderstood in our urban daily lives. The trees that we encounter in the city are at the heart of this reflection. They embody this silent resilience, this incredible capacity for adaptation to an environment that seems unsuitable for nature, even hostile. These living beings, which are nevertheless an integral part of our urban spaces, stand as symbols of resistance and coexistence, fighting against asphalt, pollution, and human density. This work can also be translated into visual compositions where the plant element is amplified, distorted, or juxtaposed with elements that have no place in the natural world. For example, a tree could take root in an urban structure, or grow in an excessive way, circumventing the rules of physics or the ecosystem. These images are not intended to represent reality, but rather to invite reflection on the way we interact with nature in an urban environment.
Through this approach, I seek above all to blur the boundaries between the real world and the imaginary world. Far from wanting to make a simple observation of nature, my intention is to push the viewer to reevaluate their relationship with the environment and to confront new perceptions. Through this distortion of reality, I seek to awaken a feeling of curiosity and reflection on the place of nature in a modern world increasingly dominated by man.
